Best 2022 NFL Draft Prospect: DeMarvin Leal, Defensive Lineman

For the first time in almost a decade, Texas A&M appears to be back among the College Football elite as far as talent. After a few seasons of irrelevancy the Aggies have a few star players on their roster that could carry this team to its first College Football playoffs. It is a common belief that defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal is the best player on the Aggies roster.

DeMarvin Leal is entering his junior year at Texas A&M. During his freshman year Leal started seven of the thirteen games he played in. He finished the season with two sacks, 38 combined tackles (14 solo tackles), and 5.5 tackles for loss.

In his sophomore season Leal started all ten games for the Aggies. He finished the year with 2.5 sacks, 37 combines tackles (18 solo tackles), seven tackles for loss, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble receovery.

This season Leal may offically breakout into the star player many think he can be. In the potential 2022 draft class he is beleived to be a top-3 defensive player, top-2 defensive lineman, and the best defensive tackle in the draft.

However, what makes Leal an attractive prospect besides his play is his versatility to line up all over the defensive line. Multiple defenses around the league could use a player like Leal in their front seven.

A few teams who could take Leal early next year include the Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets, Cincinnati Bengals, and Minnesota Vikings.
