A new quarterback joins the fold and the secondary gets a major facelift in this Philadelphia Eagles 2022 mock draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles made some major changes this past offseason. From moving on from Doug Pederson as head coach and trading away Carson Wentz, it’s clear that this team is ready to rebuild again for the long haul just a few years removed from a Super Bowl title.

Nick Sirianni takes over at head coach and will be calling plays and designing an offense. Jonathan Gannon is also new, taking over as defensive coordinator. With Wentz gone, 2020 second round pick Jalen Hurts will take over as the starting quarterback.

There are plenty of skeptics over whether or not Hurts can be the guy going forward. While he took steps forward in his final season at Oklahoma, especially with his deep ball touch and accuracy, Hurts still struggles with NFL speed in structure and accuracy to the intermediate part of the field. He’s got some serious work to do in 2021 to prove he’s the future. This has many believing the Eagles will be picking early in 2022.

The Eagles also need help in the secondary, potentially at tackle, and would be smart to finally get some more help at the linebacker position. All that happens and more here in this Philadelphia Eagles 3-round 2022 Mock Draft. Let’s dive in!

Philadelphia Eagles 2022 Mock Draft

Round 1, 6th Overall: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

Speaking of reinvigorating the secondary, if the Eagles have a chance to draft Kyle Hamilton like they did here, it’s a no-brainer. Yes, Philadelphia signed Anthony Harris this offseason, who’s looking to bounce back, and still have hopes for mid-rounder K’Von Wallace (a player this writer liked), but Hamilton can be a special player in the NFL.

Hamilton can do it all, from playing near the line of scrimmage and in coverage near the line, to roaming on the back end. He’s an excellent tackler in open space, and does a great job with route recognition in zone coverage. Hamilton’s closing speed is outstanding, and he can thrive in a single high role with his range.

Hamilton would bring an instant impact and be a star on a secondary that’s struggled for a few seasons now, and instantly make the group better.
