The running back class for the 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up to be an interesting one as summer scouting continues here at NFL Mocks. We’ve gone through quite a few players already, including Iowa State’s Breece Hall and A&M’s Isaiah Spiller. Both are likely to be at the top of most rankings coming out of the summer. Another to watch this season is in the SEC, and that is Ole Miss Rebels’ Jerrion Ealy.
Ole Miss RB Jerrion Ealy is one of more dynamic players in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Jerrion Ealy was a highly coveted recruit coming out of high school, ranking in the top 100 of every major outlet in the recruiting game. He was a five star recruit according to 247Sports, and was ranked number 19 in the ESPN 300. Ealy was a top three player in the state of Mississippi by the major outlets and participated in the 2019 Under Armour All-American game. As a senior, Ealy averaged 8.9 yards per carry and ran for 24 scores, and amassed over 5,000 yards rushing and 84 touchdowns in his career at Jackson Prep.
Ealy was also a very good baseball player, and played in 13 games his freshman season with the Rebels, while also being a 31st round pick in the MLB Draft out of high school.
In college, Ealy has been a model of consistency on the gridiron to this point. He’s steadily averaged 5.5 yards per carry and has rushed for over 700 yards in his two seasons to this point. Ealy also has 17 total touchdowns in two seasons. His junior campaign could be a big one.
