6. Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, Ohio State

The 2022 NFL Draft doesn’t have a historically talented group of receivers as the last two classes did. Nevertheless, there are a few wideouts worth getting excited about, starting with Chris Olave. Olave could’ve been a first-round pick in last year’s draft, but he elected to return to Ohio State for one more season.

This is a risky decision because he could get injured, but he can and probably will make a lot of money if he has another productive season.

From 2019 to 2020, he caught 98 passes for 1,569 yards and 19 touchdowns. He was phenomenal as a sophomore and junior, and I expect him to have another big year.

Olave is a tremendous route runner with decent athleticism who has shown the ability to make difficult catches in tight coverage. You can check out my in-depth breakdown of his game here.

Chris Olave likely won’t be a superstar outside receiver, but he is extremely skilled and should be a productive NFL player due to his nuanced route-running ability. He can easily be a top 20 pick if he plays well this season.
