2022 NFL Draft: 5 Big Ten players to keep an eye on in 2021

2022 NFL Draft Prospect: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State
Some NFL teams are transitioning towards faster and faster wide receivers. The intrigue of Tyreek Hill has teams vying to get their hands on a player with that caliber of speed. One of the players in the 2022 NFL Draft class that could benefit from that craze is Penn State’s Jahan Dotson.
During the 2020 season, Dotson led the Big Ten in nearly all receiving categories. His 884 receiving yards topped the stat sheet while his eight touchdowns were tied for the most and his 52 receptions were third in the conference. Even his 17.0 yards per catch were fourth in the conference and the most among receivers with 40+ receptions.
In addition to being one of the top receivers in the Big Ten a year ago, Dotson is also a proven returner. He currently owns the Penn State single-season record for punt return average with a mark of 24.6 yards per return.
The key for Dotson will be the same as most of the players this year, repeating his success. Over 13 games in 2019 he had just 488 yards, but did record five touchdowns and averaged over 18 yards a catch. If he’s able to showcase similar stats as 2020 in a full season, that could go a long way in next year’s draft process that’s sure to be deep at wide receiver once again.
