4 trade destinations for Pittsburgh Steelers WR James Washington
4. Tennessee Titans
This is the most outlandish of the potential trade partners, but the Titans could be in the picture for James Washington for one reason, and one reason only: depth. Yes, both A.J. Brown and Jones are fantastic and give the Titans the best duo in football. However, Jones has missed time recently and is over 30 years old.
Now, Tennessee operated out of “11” personnel just 38 percent of the time in 2020, but that number could change a bit with Jonnu Smith in New England and Anthony Firkser set to be the starter.
Right now, Josh Reynolds is the third option, who has had good moments in his career up to this point (with the Rams) but lacks consistency and has probably hit his ceiling. Dez Fitzpatrick is the rookie on the come up, but even he might not have the ceiling James Washington has.
If the Titans are truly looking to win the Super Bowl in this window, why not make sure there’s insurance for Jones if he goes down during the season? Having Washington, who can help take advantage of how well Ryan Tannehill has played, both in the quick game and in deep ball placement, could alleviate depth concerns and make a loaded offense even better, especially for just a fourth or fifth round pick.
