Ironing Out Green’s Game

While his game is very good, there are always improvements one can make. For one, Green can get a little too aggressive at the point of attack, and can get out a little too far over his feet, causing him to lose balance. Green’s foot quickness and lateral movement skills could improve a bit, and his feet mirroring his upper body more consistently in pass pro would help against quick and powerful interior rushers.

In the run game, Green could get better at sustaining blocks at the second level. He can get there and get an initial strike in, but his quickness fails him at times to finish and seal off a lane.

2022 NFL Draft Outlook and Move to Tackle

The 2021 season will be an interesting one for Kenyon Green, especially regarding his 2022 NFL Draft stock. The Aggies have him moving to tackle in the fall, and that could change many things. If Green succeeds out there against some of the best rushers in football, then his value could skyrocket if teams believe he could play tackle in the NFL. If not, then he stays where his initial stock sits, which looks good right now as an interior player.

Kenyon Green has a very good skill set in both facets of the game, and despite the dwindling value of the guard position, he’s worth a first round selection. He can be excellent in a power scheme where he can pull and finish while also dominating in pass protection. If he cleans up a few things, he has a path to becoming a stud in the NFL. Will it be at tackle or guard? Only time will tell.
