Pick Analysis. Offensive Tackle. player. 31. Scouting Report. Alabama. Evan Neal. 9

2021 will be a big year for the New York Giants. Joe Judge got the team heading in the right direction in 2020, and pushed the Super Bowl champs in a Monday Night bout at the Meadowlands.

The Giants are giving quarterback Daniel Jones every chance to take a step forward in 2021. They added Kenny Golladay in free agency and Kadarius Toney in the 2021 draft. Saquon Barkley returns and should be his dynamic self once again. The defense is also ready to help out whenever possible.

The tackle position is one to watch this season. Andrew Thomas, the fourth overall pick in 2020, struggled a bit as a rookie, should take a big step this season. Nate Solder is also back, and Matt Peart could provide depth.

However, beyond 2021, it’s hard to know if Solder will continue to perform at a high level. If Jones does enough, as this 2022 NFL Mock Draft assumes, sticking with him another year could happen. Then, adding another tackle makes sense in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Evan Neal normally doesn’t fall this far, especially with his excellent size and power at the point of attack. He needs to iron out some balance issues, but he shows the ability in both phases of the game, and more consistency will go a long way. Neal could hop right in at right tackle in 2022 with Thomas holding down the left side.
