The Buffalo Bills enjoyed a great rise last season, much of it thanks to the break out for quarterback Josh Allen. Allen’s accuracy jumped up big time and he was in the thick of the MVP race, and the addition of Stefon Diggs aided in that.

This offseason, the Bills added plenty of help to the defensive line. With Jerry Hughes getting older, and A.J. Epenesa coming along slowly, the Bills added Gregory Rousseau, a toolsy rusher, and Carlos Basham Jr., a power rusher, in the 2021 draft. Then, they added a long term project in uber-athletic tackle Spencer Brown.

The one thing the Bills didn’t address was corner opposite Tre White, which could be their undoing in 2021. Here, in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, that need is addressed with the selection of Ahmad Gardner.

Gardner might not belong in the top tier of corners in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he has several traits that could make him a first round pick. His instincts are very good in zone and off-man coverage, and he transitions well downhill to close and tackle. Gardner is tough at the catch point as well. If he gains more experience in press-man reps, he can elevate his stock and be a great piece for the Bills.
