2022 NFL Mock Draft: QBs go 1-2, Defense Dominates Top 10
Despite the 2020 season ending in defeat in the divisional round, the Baltimore Ravens had a big breakthrough. Lamar Jackson and company finally got the playoff win monkey off their back, beating the Titans in the wild card round to advance.
This should give the Ravens confidence heading into the 2021 season, especially with the upgrades they’ve made. Jackson has made strides as a passer, but the addition of Rashod Bateman will only give him more confidence to challenge outside the numbers. Tylan Wallace should do that as well. Both players can win deep and also win quickly.
Adding Alejandro Villanueva was a good stopgap for the offensive line, but it’s something that might need to be addressed in the 2022 NFL Draft. In this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, that’s exactly where the Ravens go here.
Jaxson Kirkland is another lineman that isn’t getting as much hype as he should. Kirkland has the versatility to play either guard or tackle, and played well in his first season at tackle in 2020, allowing just two pressures. Another strong season should give teams confidence that he can excel on the perimeter at tackle, which is what the Ravens need. Kirkland and Ronnie Stanley would be a great long-term duo.
