2022 NFL Mock Draft: QBs go 1-2, Defense Dominates Top 10
The Cleveland Browns are slowly becoming a juggernaut in the AFC, and it’s thanks to strong drafting and free agent signings over the past few years. This offseason was more of the same. Cleveland added John Johnson III and Troy Hill to an already very good secondary that gets Grant Delpit back at safety as well.
The Browns also added Greg Newsome II in the draft this past offseason, and pairing Newsome with Denzel Ward will be excellent. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will also be great as a dime linebacker of sorts, and they even added Tony Fields to back up JOK in that role.
The one area this team could improve upon is on the defensive line. The interior looks to be the one weak point, despite the Browns adding Malik Jackson and Tommy Togiai to the fold in the offseason. Here, they select Oklahoma’s Perrion Winfrey.
Winfrey has great pass rushing upside, and could be one of the better interior rushers in the 2022 NFL Draft. Winfrey has great change of direction skills and explosiveness for the position, and has a good set of power moves as well to push the pocket and get linemen off-balance. Winfrey could become an every down player in Cleveland.
