2022 NFL Mock Draft: QBs go 1-2, Defense Dominates Top 10
The Giants are back up in this 2022 NFL Mock Draft, and having already addressed the offensive line, it’s time to take a look at the defense. It’s a very good unit, and should be dominant in 2021. Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence are studs, and Danny Shelton is a very good nose tackle.
2021 second rounder Azeez Ojulari can bring some juice to the pass rush with his skill set, and the secondary should be very good. The addition of Adoree Jackson means a very good pairing with James Bradberry, and Xavier McKinney could break out in year two.
The question mark right now is at linebacker. Yes, Blake Martinez has production, but he nor Reggie Ragland are true game-changers at the position. So, the Giants dive back into the Alabama well, this time selecting linebacker Christian Harris.
Harris has a good blend of size and athleticism to become a good quarterback of the defense at the next level. He has the range and upside in coverage, and good instincts when working downhill to become a three down defender. A good linebacker will help this Giants defensive unit gel even more, and could play a part in making this team a true contender down the line.
