Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade options with the Tennessee Titans
2. Ke’Shawn Vaughn getting a fresh start behind Derrick Henry?
Things aren’t overly rosy between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 2020 third-round pick Ke’Shawn Vaughn.
On a team that was really looking for someone to step into a prominent role at the running back position, Vaughn simply wasn’t able to seize an opportunity a year ago at this time.
He ended up carrying the ball just 26 times for 109 yards in 10 regular season games, then he had a fumble in the playoffs.
The Buccaneers re-signed Leonard Fournette in 2021 and still have Ronald Jones and they also signed veteran Giovani Bernard, who figures to get plenty of work coming over from the Cincinnati Bengals as one of the most effective pass-catching backs in the league.
Vaughn is the odd-man-out and the Tennessee Titans just so happen to have somewhat of a need behind Derrick Henry for some talent and upside.
Darrynton Evans should not be counted out in his second season, by any means, but the Titans could upgrade behind “King” Derrick Henry, one of the league’s top running backs.
Vaughn just so happens to be a Nashville native and played his college ball at Vanderbilt, so a trade to the Titans would be a homecoming for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup running back.
