New York Jets

Unlike the other two teams on this list, the New York Jets are actually trending in the right direction. The only problem is that their roster was in such awful condition that it will take far more than one decent draft to right the ship. It was so bad, in fact, that the Jets could show improvement and still very easily be making the first selection of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Let’s just start under center. Zach Wilson has potential, don’t get me wrong. However, any team that enters a season without a quarterback who has thrown a pass in an NFL game is going to be starting behind the eight ball. Despite rostering three quarterbacks, Jamison Crowder has more NFL pass attempts than all three quarterbacks combined.

If the inexperience of the most important position isn’t enough, the Jets play in one of the toughest divisions in the game right now. The Buffalo Bills were the AFC runner-up last year and retained most of the key pieces. The New England Patriots went nuts and reloaded in the offseason and the Miami Dolphins are an up-and-coming sleeper. Finding wins won’t be easy for the Jets.

The positive is that if the Jets are the team to be picking first, quarterback should be checked off their list. Meaning they can take the best non-QB available or trade the pick for a king’s ransom. It would be a no-loss scenario. Like I said, they are trending in the right direction so there should be some positivity. It’s just going to take a few seasons to get there.
