The 2022 NFL Draft process is getting underway, as many scouts and analysts are building watch lists and putting together summer scouting reports. The same goes for us here at NFL Mocks, so follow along as we go through plenty of players to watch for the 2022 NFL Draft.

The wide receiver class is already one of note, and while it isn’t shaping up to be historic in depth or in top tier talent, there are plenty of intriguing names to keep an eye on. Ohio State has a pair of prospects to watch in Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave who both are on track to be first round selections. Treylon Burks is exciting, and John Metchie III could be next for Alabama. One that hasn’t gotten as much hype (at least nationally) is Boston College wide receiver Zay Flowers.

Boston College WR Zay Flowers has a chance to be a big time 2022 NFL Draft riser.

In high school, Flowers was a three start recruit according to 247Sports and Rivals. Flowers helped University School reach the state semifinals in his junior and senior seasons, while playing both receiver and defensive back.

Flowers started making plays as soon as he got on the field for the Eagles. He rushed for 195 yards on 27 carries, good for 7.2 yards per tote. Flowers also averaged over 15 yards per catch in his freshman campaign, and scored four total touchdowns. Things took off in 2020, as Flowers caught 56 passes for 892 yards and nine touchdowns, still showing off the big play ability, again surpassing 15 yards per reception.

The big play ability is there, and there are plenty of traits in Flowers’ game to show why he can be a big riser in the 2022 NFL Draft. Let’s dive in!
