Fourth Round

106. Denver Broncos: Josey Jewell, LB, Iowa

There have been zero players from the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft that have made a Pro Bowl at this point in their careers. But there have been multiple starters around the league found in this round. The most successful of this group has been Denver Broncos‘ linebacker Josey Jewell who was drafted out of Iowa with the 106th overall pick.

Jewell started nine games his rookie season and had 58 combined tackles (38 solo tackles). The following season he only started three games and had only 38 combined tackles (21 solo tackles) and 1.5 sacks. But this past year Jewell was one of Denver’s starting middle linebackers for all sixteen regular-season games. Jewell had 113 combined tackles (67 solo tackles) and two sacks. PFF had given Jewell a 68.1 grade for how he had played this past season.

He is projected to be one of Denver’s starting inside linebackers for this upcoming season. But he has to battle out Alexander “A.J.” Johnson and 2021 third-round pick Baron Browning for one of the two starting linebacker positions. He has been one of the bright spots for a lackluster round in the 2018 draft.
