Final Thoughts and 2022 NFL Draft outlook

Breece Hall is an incredible talent at the running back position. His blend of vision, processing, ability to create yardage, and balance make him a dangerous threat at the position. He’s a perfect fit right now in power and inside zone running schemes with his patience and vision, but his recognition of cutback lanes make him a potential fit in outside zone.

There’s definitely things for him to work on, especially his receiving skills. Being a threat on third down is important, and it’s something that could work against him in the 2022 NFL Draft.

So is Hall the preseason RB1? The short answer is yes, for now. He’s got a great set of traits that translate extremely well. But, there are other running backs on his tail that could challenge for the title of top back in the class.

Another big season for Hall could cement his position, as he’s the real driving force of the Iowa State offense. Improvement as a receiver and flexibility will be important for his stock next spring, and the good news is that he has a full season to prove it. Another Heisman campaign for Hall makes the Cyclones a must watch, as it does for the top NFL Draft evaluators. Hall will be a fascinating study this fall.
