2022 NFL mock draft: Texans pass on QB in QB-heavy predictions
2022 NFL mock draft: 4th pick
All told, the 2021 offseason has been pretty fantastic for the New York Jets.
The Adam Gase era is officially in the rearview, and new head coach Robert Saleh was arguably the top head coaching prospect in the 2021 circuit.
With his fiery personality and ability to get the best out of seemingly any crew of defenders put on the field for him, Saleh inherited a pretty poor roster when he first arrived with the Jets.
It would be inaccurate to say, roughly six months later, that the Jets now have a great-looking roster, but it looks a lot better than it did and should be actually quite exciting to watch if all of their young pieces can stay healthy.
The Jets’ roster rebuild in the 2021 offseason did not include much of an overhaul of the secondary, at least in terms of adding impact players with their prime free agency and draft assets.
That’s why, in this mock draft, they would undoubtedly be thrilled to land the top CB in the 2022 NFL Draft class — at least right now — in LSU’s Derek Stingley Jr.
Stingley had a bit of a down year in 2020 but was outstanding in 2019, arguably the best cornerback in the entire country as a true freshman for the Tigers.
He was a consensus All-American in 2019 after picking off six passes with 15 more passes broken up.
