2022 NFL mock draft: Texans pass on QB in QB-heavy predictions
The Kansas City Chiefs have proven to be more than willing to take on character risks. Is that really what Derion Kendrick is?
He was dismissed from the Clemson program, which is certainly a red flag. With that being said, Kendrick has stated that he was preoccupied with his son who was in the hospital, preventing him from getting the football work in that he needed to.
Whether it was something deeper or not, Kendrick’s dismissal from the Clemson football team and his explanation as to exactly why that happened was good enough for Kirby Smart and the Georgia football program.
Smart is a defensive backs guy, and he just put a few really good ones into the NFL in first-round pick Eric Stokes (Packers), second-round pick Tyson Campbell (Jaguars), and fifth-round pick Richard LeCounte (Browns).
Kendrick has some issues he needs to get fixed on the field and he’s in a pretty great spot to do that.
He was considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in the country coming out of high school, and if Kendrick can figure out how to make everything click as a defensive back, he’s going to be scary good at the next level.
