2022 NFL mock draft: Texans pass on QB in QB-heavy predictions
2022 NFL mock draft: 28th pick
There’s no doubt that the Baltimore Ravens have an established identity as a running team.
Since Lamar Jackson took over as the team’s full-time starter at QB, the Ravens have been one of the NFL’s most dangerous teams running the football and have run for over 3,000 yards as a team in consecutive seasons.
That has, of course, ranked 1st in the NFL, but the Ravens were also 2nd in the NFL in rushing in Jackson’s rookie 2018 season.
Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins split carries last season and combined for 15 touchdowns on the ground as well as over 1,500 yards. Those guys are certainly productive but do they have the star power of a guy like Isaiah Spiller.
At 6-foot-1, 225 pounds, Spiller has the look of a featured back at the next level. He has the production to back it up, too.
He’s run for nearly 2,000 yards in his first two seasons at Texas A&M with 19 touchdowns and an average of 5.5 yards per carry.
Despite his size, Spiller is definitely a home run hitting type of running back and should be able to establish himself as a possible RB1 candidate in the class of 2022.
