2022 NFL Draft: 5 quarterbacks to watch this college season

2022 NFL Draft Prospect: Kedon Slovis, USC
A two-year starter at USC, Kedon Slovis will head into the 2021 season for his third campaign under center for the Trojans. However, Slovis will need to prove he isn’t just another USC quarterback since the school hasn’t had the best luck of producing NFL quarterbacks, ranging from Matt Leinart down to Sam Darnold with Mark Sanchez, Matt Barkley and Cody Kessler mixed in.
With that being said, Slovis has been rather productive in his time as a Trojan. Taking over the starting role during the 2019 season as a freshman, Slovis went on to be named the PAC-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and All-PAC 12 Honorable Mention. Not to keep knocking down his accomplishments, but Darnold also won the freshman of the year award.
While comparisons like that aren’t necessarily fair to Slovis, it’s something he will have to get used to and find ways to overcome. Luckily for him, his stats help a bit.
Over 18 games at USC, Slovis has thrown 47 touchdowns with just 16 interceptions. Now, he did average more than an interception per game in 2020, throwing seven in six games, so that will be something he will have to bounce back from.
If Slovis can have a strong season and tune out the criticism of just being another USC quarterback, he has a shot to hear his name called in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
