Denver Broncos

Moving with Teddy Bridgewater, we transition from the Carolina Panthers to the Denver Broncos. If there’s a team that has tried almost every route to find a quarterback, it’s Denver. Since Peyton Manning they’ve tried everyone from Paxton Lynch to Trevor Siemian to now Drew Lock with players like Case Keenum and Joe Flacco mixed in.

Despite just 18 career starts over two seasons, the signs are already pointing to the end of the road for Lock in Denver. Some were calling for the team to draft a quarterback in the first round this year, just two years after taking Lock in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Instead, the team invested in the veteran Bridgewater. At this point in his career Bridgewater is likely to fall into the category of Fitzpatrick and Keenum. Quarterbacks who could start if needed, but are otherwise some of the best backups in the game.

Should Lock not workout and the team needs to turn to Bridgewater during the season, then you can put the Broncos near the top of the list for teams looking for a quarterback. Faith will be lost in Lock and Bridgewater’s contract will be up.

This might sound like a broken record for fans of the Denver Broncos, but hopefully this season will be the last for a bit that they are in a conversation like this.
