5 teams that have to select a quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft
Each year the NFL Draft revolves around the quarterback position and the 2022 NFL Draft is sure to be no different. As soon as Mr. Irrelevant was announced at the 2021 NFL Draft, if not before, fans were already talking about teams that could be in the market for a signal caller in 2022. With that being said, there’s always front-runners who should be looking to get their next franchise quarterback.
Typically there’s at least a handful of teams entering each draft that could either use a new starting quarterback or prepare for the future by selecting one a year or two before it becomes a huge need. Just this past season we saw teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets who very clearly needed to address the problem early in the draft.
We also get teams like the Green Bay Packers who may have even jumped the gun. After taking Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Packers saw Aaron Rodgers post an MVP season that has them in a bind for what to do next.
No matter the reason or how it was reached, each year there’s a new list of teams that are in the market for their next quarterback of the future. Some are in a better position than others, but teams always find a way to make it work and get their guy.
For the 2022 NFL Draft, these five teams could very easily top the list for quarterback-needy teams. There’s always a chance that a player from the current roster shocks us in the upcoming season or a different move is made to address the problem before the draft. However, as is currently stands, these are the five teams to watch in the quarterback market over the next year and entering the 2022 NFL Draft.
