Even though the 2021 NFL Draft is in the rearview mirror, the analysis has just begun. With teams headed to training camp in a couple weeks, there will be plenty of reports and nuggets about the 2021 NFL Draft rookies and how they’re performing. Every piece of hype will get fans excited, and every “rough day” tweet will have fans nervous.

The NFC West is no different than any other division in that regard. The teams went in very different directions during the draft. The 49ers moved up for their quarterback of the future a few weeks beforehand. Arizona tried to balance building up their roster. The Seahawks had very few selections and needed to make the most of them. As far as the Rams, well, they tried their best (and maybe got distracted by the Malibu draft house).

What was the best pick by every NFC West team in the 2021 NFL Draft? Some are more obvious than others, so let’s dive in!

Arizona Cardinals: Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue

Round 2, 49th Overall

The Arizona Cardinals made some major moves in the 2021 offseason. It began with the signing of J.J. Watt to play opposite Chandler Jones, which will be a fearsome duo. The Cardinals also upgraded their offensive line, signing Kelvin Beachum and bringing in Rodney Hudson. They even brought in veterans Malcolm Butler and A.J. Green to help out the secondary and Kyler Murray, respectively.

Arizona selected Zaven Collins in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and while his unique blend of size and speed could help out the defense, it’s going to be important to find a true home for him on the defense.

Rather, Purdue receiver Rondale Moore was the best selection by the birds. Despite injuries that limited his on-field time in college, Moore has a natural explosiveness to his game that gives the Cardinals a big time threat at two levels. In the quick passing game, Moore can use his explosiveness, speed, and toughness to create after the catch. His speed makes him dangerous as a deep threat, which plays into Murray’s strengths as a deep ball passer. Even in a loaded receiver room, Moore can make an impact in his rookie campaign and beyond.
