#1 Odell Beckham Jr. WR/ Cleveland Browns ADP: 6.03

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., fresh off of an ACL tear, with some of the worst QB/WR chemistry I have seen in a long time, is going in the early 6th.  Even without the ACL tear, this is way too early.

This might sound harsh, but I don’t think I have ever seen a guy ride so much good faith based on years-old production.  I feel like I have to be the bad guy here, but this isn’t the same guy that was making Eli’s last couple of seasons look solid.

He isn’t the guy who is going to go for 1,300 yards in his sleep anymore.  Last year, before the injury, he was averaging three catches a game. Three.  He has only played 16 games once in the last four years, and that season his stat line was 74 receptions, 1,035 yards, and 4 TDs.

Listen, this is not all OBJ’s fault. I think Baker Mayfield has a real problem when he is playing, and the numbers weirdly back up that Baker is a much better QB without OBJ on the field.  Most agree that he forces targets to Beckham, but so did Eli.

Again he just isn’t that guy anymore.  It has been four seasons since he last went nuclear on the league, so to expect him to do it in his age 28/29 season coming off an ACL tear, just seems like people are setting him and their fantasy teams up for failure.

Instead of OBJ go draft guys like DJ Moore, Brandon Aiyuk, and Chase Claypool.  OBJ is going to be a flex play at this point in his career, not a WR2, so draft him as such.
