Fantasy Football: 3 Players who are helped/hurt by going to new teams
3) Curtis Samuel WR/ Washington Football Team ADP: 9.01
Curtis Samuel presents the toughest analysis of these three guys. Mainly, the issue is, what exactly is he?
He is that scary hybrid-type of player that coaches love to use, but fantasy football players can’t help but get frustrated with.
Reuniting with Ron Rivera feels like a good thing, having an absolute gunslinger in Fitzpatrick feels good, and having a running mate in Terry McLaurin feels good. So you should feel good about it too.
I know, you don’t feel great, but this is a guy that my buddy really was able to rely on in his flex last year (good pick up, Ry) and became prime trade bait as the year wore on. He’s only 5’11″, but the man is a blur on the field. If he can avoid the injury bug, he could really break out in the way that fantasy owners have hoped for.
Last year he had 77 receptions for 851 yards, along with 200 more yards added on the ground, and what amounted to a solid fantasy year for Samuel who was stuck in a pretty bland Carolina offense. If you buy him at the 9.01 as his ADP suggests then you are going to be praying his upside gets you a steal.
I am not one for iffy proclamations, and y’all came here to get strong and reliable takes on the fantasy season. Take Samuel at the 9.01, maybe even get wild and grab him in the early 8th, where people are taking guys like Brandin Cooks, Jerry Jeudy, and Kenyan Drake.
While they have those guys, laugh while you claim win after win with your bargain WR2. Don’t be shocked if Samuel cracks the top 20, be a little if he hits his ceiling of top 15, and if he explodes into the top 10 I prefer chocolates to flowers.
Draft him with confidence and while you do that, confidently avoid these next 3 players.
