2022 NFL Draft News and Notes

  • The big news recently that involved the NFL Draft is when the Atlanta Falcons sent Julio Jones to the Tennessee Titans. In return for Jones and a 2023 sixth-round pick, the Falcons got the Titans 2022 second-round pick and a fourth-round selection in 2023.
  • Navy fullback Jamale Carothers was recently dismissed from the Navy football program and is currently in the transfer portal. Over the past two seasons, Carothers has been one of the more productive fullbacks in college football having rushed for over 1,000 yards during that time frame.
  • One of the best players in this year’s transfer portals announced where he would be playing football next season. Former Marshall offensive guard Cain Madden has decided to play his last year of college football at Notre Dame. Madden was a second-team All-American last year and should start at right guard for the Irish,
  • Kentucky will use Wan’Dale Robinson as a slot receiver this season. Robinson spent his first couple of seasons at Nebraska, where he was used more as a utility player. Focusing on play wide receiver this year could benefit Robinson as it will show the NFL he has a set position in the NFL.
  • Former USC running back Stephen Carr transferred to Indiana. While Carr never put up great production at USC he was a five-star recruit coming out of high school. He should start for the Hoosiers this season, and with a big season could be a day three pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
  • Penn State linebacker Jesse Luketa will get some reps at defensive end this fall. He will likely project as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level.
