Denver Broncos: Players and picks to tempt Packers into Rodgers trade
Final thoughts
If the Denver Broncos are going to tempt the Green Bay Packers into an Aaron Rodgers trade, they are going to have to put together a very compelling package of picks and players to get the deal done.
Even though Rodgers is going to be 38 later this year, Tom Brady is setting perhaps a new baseline for how long quarterbacks can play as long as they still “got it”.
Rodgers feels like the same type of guy as Brady in terms of otherworldly longevity, but time will tell that tale. The Denver Broncos will be aggressive if the Packers actually make Rodgers available, and a trade like this could ultimately get the Packers’ QB out of green and into orange:
- 2022 first-round pick
- 2022 second-round pick
- 2023 first-round pick
- 2023 second-round pick
- DL Dre’Mont Jones
- QB Teddy Bridgewater
- OL Graham Glasgow
That’s a lot to give up for one guy, but it’s Aaron Rodgers. For most Packers fans, it still wouldn’t be enough.
The Packers could also try to ask the Denver Broncos for a playmaker at receiver, maybe be a Tim Patrick or KJ Hamler, but ultimately, this kind of trade provides Green Bay with both present and future value.
Would Brian Gutekunst bite?
The Denver Broncos need to make it impossible for him not to in order to land Aaron Rodgers.
