Denver Broncos trade pieces: QB insurance

If the Packers are going to trade Aaron Rodgers, they’re going to need some quarterback insurance.

But the Packers have Jordan Love…

Love may or may not be ready for action. If he’s really not ready, the Packers would know, and they could easily ask for one of the Denver Broncos’ current quarterbacks in return for Rodgers (in addition to Chubb or Jones) to start for the interim until Love is ready to take over.

Both Lock and Bridgewater have very team-friendly contracts and it stands to reason that the Packers would have an interest in both.

The Packers were one of the teams that apparently liked Drew Lock the most in the 2019 NFL Draft before the Denver Broncos got him in the second round, and there were even some rumors that the Packers could take him in the first round that year.

Bridgewater is a proven veteran guy who may not be a playmaker at the position, but he’s a capable starter who could work well on a roster like the Packers’.

One way or another, I think the Packers would ask for a QB coming back from the Broncos in a trade.
