Denver Broncos: Players and picks to tempt Packers into Rodgers trade
Denver Broncos trade pieces: Defensive players
In this hypothetical scenario, the Packers would already be getting multiple first-round picks and multiple day two picks.
In order to trade Aaron Rodgers, they’re going to need some proven talent on rookie contracts coming back.
The Denver Broncos have a couple of guys the Packers would probably be very interested in on the defensive front in outside linebacker Bradley Chubb and defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones.
Jones has two more years left on his rookie deal and Chubb is also under contract for two more seasons at very team-friendly rates.
Chubb made the Pro Bowl in the 2020 season, his first year coming off of an ACL tear in 2019, racking up 7.5 sacks, 19 QB hits, and nine tackles for loss. He also had 34 total quarterback pressures, just two off of his career-high 36 despite playing in only 14 games.
Jones has become one of the league’s most underrated interior defensive linemen. He has 10 sacks, 10 tackles for loss, 17 QB hits, 22 pressures, and four batted passes in his first two NFL seasons.
As their roster is presently constructed, the Packers may have more of a “need” for a player like Jones but do they view him on the same tier as Chubb?
