2022 NFL Draft News and Notes
- Kentucky offensive tackle Darian Kinnard reportedly received a second or third round grade for the 2021 NFL Draft, Kinnard will hope to improve that stock this year by moving from right tackle to left tackle.
- The Philadelphia Eagles traded corner Jameson Hudson and a 2023 sixth-round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars for cornerback Josiah Scott. Scott was a 2020 fourth-round pick who should compete for playing time as a nickel corner next season.
- Iowa junior quarterback Spencer Petras has been working with private quarterback coach Tony Racioppi. While Petras has a strong arm he must improve on his accuracy and touch to get a serious shot in the NFL.
- Another quarterback who is working with a private coach this summer is Bo Nix of Auburn. Nix is working with Rob Williams who is a kinesiologist on refining his technique. Nix goes into the 2021 season with an undrafted free agent grade, but he has the raw tools to potentially be a developmental quarterback in the NFL.
- Boston College picked up one of the best tight ends in the FCS last week when Trae Barry of Jackson State decided to transfer there. Last season he caught 33 passes for 534 yards and was named FCS All-American. To go along with his production Barry also has the size to play in the NFL coming in at 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds.
- Georgia quarterback JT Daniels had a great spring game. He went 28-41 for 324 yards and threw three touchdowns. It would not be a shock if Daniels is regarded as a late first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft if he has a strong season.
- One of the top guards in the 2022 NFL Draft class Cain Madden entered the transfer portal last week. Madden was named an All-American last season and was an All-CUSA pick in 2019. He will likely enter the 2021 season with a day two draft grade.
