NFL Draft 2020: Complete first-round re-draft after rookie year
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Jordyn Brooks, LB
The New England Patriots absolutely stole Michael Onwenu in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Onwenu is a big and powerful offensive lineman who shined for the Patriots at tackle and guard last season. He is an important part of the future of that franchise and would undoubtedly be a first-round worthy prospect in a re-draft.
The Seattle Seahawks always have needs across the offensive line and Onwenu’s ability to play tackle and guard would come in handy for the team. He stands out as the ideal choice for the team here at No. 27.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Patrick Queen, LB
As per usual, the Baltimore Ravens found great value when they snagged Patrick Queen late in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Queen is coming off of a strong rookie season with the Ravens and looks like a good fit for the team. With Queen still available at No. 28, this feels like an easy pick.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Isaiah Wilson, OT
Boy, do the Tennessee Titans wish this could happen. The Isaiah Wilson pick was an absolute disaster for Tennessee as they essentially wasted their 2020 first-round selection. Here, they shoot for some defensive upside with the addition of Javon Kinlaw. Kinlaw was a bit of an inconsistent player for the San Francisco 49ers last season but his ability to penetrate and create pressure from the interior is obvious.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Noah Igbinoghene, CB
With their third and final selection of this re-draft, the Miami Dolphins find exciting playmaking ability at the wide receiver position. While Henry Ruggs III was not perfect last season, but he is still an incredibly fast and explosive player who can undoubtedly stretch the defense deep. Snagging him here at No. 30 feels like good value at a major need for Miami.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Jeff Gladney, CB
Ezra Cleveland entered the NFL as an exciting offensive tackle prospect whose obvious athleticism gave him obvious upside as a pass protector. He took over as the starting right guard for the Minnesota Vikings last season and played extremely well at the position. Whether Cleveland ever makes the move back outside or not, he is clearly a talented player who would make sense for Minnesota at No. 31 in this re-draft.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB
Andrew Thomas was the first offensive lineman off of the board in an absolutely loaded class at the position. The New York Giants taking him at No. 4 overall was clearly a mistake as Tristan Wirfs, Jedrick Wills and Mekhi Becton are much better, but Thomas is still a rock-solid NFL left tackle who can bring some stability up front.
The Kansas City Chiefs would have been wise to address their offensive line issues a year early and that is exactly what they do with the selection of Thomas here. Super Bowl LV may have ended much differently if the Chiefs would have invested in their offensive line during the 2020 NFL Draft.
