NFL Draft 2020: Complete first-round re-draft after rookie year
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Jerry Jeudy, WR
Jerry Jeudy was good as a rookie wide receiver for the Denver Broncos last season but Chase Claypool was better. Claypool is a big and explosive target on the outside who undoubtedly has a ton of upside going forward. He could grow into an absolute star in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ passing attack and would be doing the same in Denver.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: A.J. Terrell, CB
A.J. Terrell was considered by most to be a reach by the Atlanta Falcons at No. 16 overall. Taking him again in this re-draft would not be a bad move, but landing edge rusher Yetur Gross-Matos would be better.
Gross-Matos is a long and athletic edge rusher who showed immediate playmaking ability last season. He is an exciting speed rusher around the edge who also shows impressive instincts as a run defender. The Falcons have obvious needs at the edge rusher position and having Gross-Matos in the mix would help in a major way.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: CeeDee Lamb, WR
Losing CeeDee Lamb would be a bummer but the Dallas Cowboys have massive needs on the defensive side of the ball that showed up consistently throughout the 2020 season. Jaylon Johnson was impressive as an outside cornerback for the Chicago Bears as a rookie last season and would be a strong first-round selection for Dallas in this re-draft scenario.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Austin Jackson, OT
Isaiah Simmons in a Brian Flores defense? Yes, please! Simmons had a bit of a rough start in Arizona last season but really started to come around late in the year. Putting him with a defensive coach in Miami who would know how to make the most out his talent would be an ideal situation for both sides.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: Damon Arnette, CB
Damon Arnette at No. 19 overall was a reach but cornerback is an area of need for the Las Vegas Raiders. Jeff Okudah struggled a bit as a rookie but he is undoubtedly an extremely gifted cornerback who could still grow into a premier shutdown player on the outside. Adding him to the Raiders’ defensive mix would be ideal for the team.
Actual 2020 NFL Draft Pick: K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE
After passing on cornerback earlier in this re-draft, the Jaguars would be wise to look to address the situation here at No. 20. Trevon Diggs was not perfect as a rookie for the Dallas Cowboys, but his combination of size, athleticism and natural man coverage skills are obvious. He undoubtedly has a bright future at the cornerback position and is a worthy first-round selection in this re-draft.
