The 2021 offseason has been nothing short of a wild ride for the Houston Texans that only got crazier during the 2021 NFL Draft. The Texans did not have a selection until the early portion of the third round of the Draft thanks to the Laremy Tunsil trade a couple of years ago.

That trade has completely destroyed the Texans’ draft capital and with serious allegations coming upon star quarterback Deshaun Watson in the 2021 offseason, new general manager Nick Caserio and head coach David Culley stepped into a bit more than they bargained for in their rookie seasons with Houston.

Nobody knows at this point what the future holds for Watson, and there’s no point in speculating on it. We do know that the Houston Texans signed veteran free agent Tyrod Taylor early on in the NFL’s free agent signing period.

We also know that Caserio has essentially run the 2021 offseason for the Houston Texans as though they were an expansion team all over again.

Between free agent signings, trade acquisitions, and contract restructures, the Texans have made 43 moves on veteran players in the 2021 offseason. Among those moves 34 players came from other teams.

The team cutting JJ Watt seems like a distant memory at this point in the offseason.

After bringing in 34 players from other teams, the Texans drafted another five players with some mixed results or at least mixed reactions to their picks.

Let’s look at the best and the worst from Houston’s 2021 NFL Draft class.
