Washington Football Team steals Dyami Brown in the third round
The Washington Football Team has done a great job of finding value through the first three rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft. Their draft haul began with the first-round selection of Jamin Davis, an extremely physically gifted linebacker prospect who should become an immediate impact player for the team. In the second round, Washington absolutely stole Samuel Cosmi, a high-upside left tackle prospect who could fill a major hole for this team up front.
The Washington Football Team had two third-round selections on Friday night. First, they snagged big and long defensive back Benjamin St-Juste at No. 74 and were able to land dynamic wide receiver Dyami Brown a bit later at No. 82. All of these players stand out as strong picks for Washington, but Dyami Brown in particular, feels like the best value.
Brown is an explosive wide receiver prospect who easily stretches the field on the outside. He separates from the defense well in the deep passing game, tracks the ball at a high level and consistently shows sticky hands. While Brown does a majority of his damage in the deep passing game, he does have some ability as an intermediate target in the middle of the field as well. Simply put, this guy is a dynamic playmaker who will be able to make an impact in Washington.
Washington already has a dominant defensive unit, so they will not need too much out of their offense to be competitive in any game. That being said, they have drastically improved their offensive attack this offseason, most notably with the additions of Curtis Samuel and Ryan Fitzpatrick.
With Antonio Gibson running behind a strong offensive line and Fitzpatrick spreading the ball around the field to Terry McLaurin, Samuel and Logan Thomas, there was already a lot to like about what Washington had on the offensive side of the ball. Adding an exciting deep target like Dyami Brown to their suddenly strong group of playmakers should take this unit to the next level.
