Round 3 Pick 87: Aaron Robinson CB UCF

With the third selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select Aaron Robinson. With the Steelers deciding to part ways with Steven Nelson due to the tight cap situation, Robinson is a great fit to add to that Pittsburgh defense. Robinson is a fairly big corner with great speed, running a 4.3 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. Solid tackling ability and long arms would make him a great add on the outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers secondary.

The stats for Aaron Robinson this past season did not impress a lot of evaluators. This leads to him falling in this mock draft to the Steelers and needs some fundamental improvement as well. Stats aren’t everything though, his tape does show a lot of upside to be a skilled corner in the league. Also with a great pro day and size, Robinson can be coach up at the next level to be a more fundamental player going forward.

The addition of Robinson would allow Cam Sutton to play inside at the slot position where he seems most fitted. The Pittsburgh Steelers need some insurance as well at the position for Joe Haden is also getting older and the lack of depth at the position. Robinson makes too much sense here with having great size and quick speed at the corner position.
