Pittsburgh Steelers: 7-round mock draft after landing Najee Harris at 24
By Jonah Hovis
The Pittsburgh Steelers took Najee Harris with their first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Running back was a big need for the Pittsburgh Steelers this off-season as they had very little production at the position and lost their lead back James Conner in free agency. Now that the Pittsburgh Steelers have taken care of that need, where do they go from here? Find out in this mock draft of rounds two through seven for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Round 2 Pick 55: Landon Dickerson, C, Alabama
With their second selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers draft Landon Dickerson. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost beloved veteran Maurkice Pouncey as he declared his retirement from the league this off-season. This is a hole that was not addressed in free agency and will continue to produce a better run game and help out his former teammate Najee Harris.
Landon Dickerson has a lot of potential to be a great center in the NFL. Even though he may be projected to go higher, his injury and teams not being able to meet with players individually this off-season could leave a lot of teams worried. Although, Landon Dickerson was able to make a recovery in enough time to come back for the National Championship game after getting hurt in the SEC Championship, showing that he has durability and injuries will not be a huge factor in his career.
Dickerson has great size at 6-foot-6 and weighs around 325 pounds, and played like a man amongst boys at Alabama. With true toughness, great football IQ, and impressive athletic ability, Dickerson would be an ideal choice to be the next starting center of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
