2021 NFL mock draft: First-round predictions one last time
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 28th overall
Greg Newsome II is a talented cornerback prospect who consistently shines in coverage. He can press receivers at the line of scrimmage, shows good instincts in zone and attacks the ball in the air well. He has fallen down the board a bit in this mock draft and stands out as a nice value pick. Cornerback stands out as a major need on the New Orleans Saints’ roster, making Newsome the clear pick here.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 29th overall
The Green Bay Packers could go in many different directions with this pick. They have clear needs on both sides of the ball their choice, including the linebacker position. Jamin Davis is an extremely athletic linebacker prospect who stands out as one of the premier prospects available on this board. Sticking him in the middle of the Packers’ defense as a rangy playmaker would be the best selection for Green Bay in this scenario.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 30th overall
The Indianapolis Colts have an obvious need at the left tackle position and Samuel Cosmi stands out as one of the premier players remaining on this board. Cosmi is an athletic offensive lineman who moves his feet extremely well in pass protection and as a run blocker.
After trading down earlier in this mock draft, the Colts are still able to find value at an important position of need here. Cosmi is a talented player who would be the best pick for the Colts here at No. 30.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 31st overall
After trading away Orlando Brown Jr. last week, the Baltimore Ravens have a hole at the right tackle position. They use the best pick acquired in that trade for Brown’s replacement in this mock draft, snagging Alex Leatherwood here at No. 31.
Leatherwood is a big, long, athletic and powerful offensive lineman who shined at guard and tackle during his college career. Leatherwood may be better suited to play inside at the next level but has the raw talent to at least potentially stick at tackle. Either way, Leatherwood would likely be a strong addition to the Ravens’ offensive line mix for many years.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 32nd overall
The defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not have many needs on either side of the ball. That being said, they do lack ideal depth at the edge rusher position. There is not much on this roster behind Shaquil Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul, making EDGE an obvious target for this team at No. 32 if the board falls right.
In this mock draft, Joe Tryon stands out as one of the best players remaining at No. 32. He is a quick and athletic edge rusher who undoubtedly has exciting upside at the next level. Here, the Bucs add Tryon to immediately help with their depth as they groom him for a larger long-term role.
