Seattle Seahawks mock draft: Seahawks fill gaps with few picks
By Kyle Edmond
Round 4, Pick 129
The Seattle secondary hasn’t been the same since the Legion of Boom, but adding Jamal Adams was a big step for the unit. The only downside is that they don’t have much beyond him for the time being. The Seahawks signed Ahkello Witherspoon and Pierre Desir, but the position is far from complete. If they want to keep being competitive in one of the game’s best divisions, they’ll need to make an upgrade.
That upgrade could come in the form of Marco Wilson, a cornerback from Florida. Wilson came on strong at Florida, starting as a true freshman to join a list that includes just Joe Haden, Janoris Jenkins, and Marcus Robinson. However, a season-ending injury early in 2018 caused a major setback that trickled into his 2019 performance as well. Luckily, his 2020 campaign started to look more like his former self.
As a freshman, Wilson logged an impressive 10 passes defended as well as 34 tackles. If he can get back to that form, which he showed this past season that he might be on track to do so, then he could be a potential steal for the Seahawks. With Witherspoon and Desir joining the team on top of being a fourth-round pick, there won’t be pressure to perform right away for Wilson. With that being said, he has the tools to contribute early in the season and grow into a strong player.
