In an unforeseen turn of events, the Miami Dolphins decide to restart their search for a franchise quarterback with the turnaround firesales of previously thought-to-be savior Tua Tagovailoa. Offloading the one-year project onto quarterback-needy division rival New England, the Miami Dolphins sell out on days two and three of the 2021 NFL Draft to instead take the triple first-rounder approach to complete their roster.

Finding their hopeful long-term quarterback, the New England Patriots would witness a quarterback competition between Newton and Tagovailoa, and subsequently clashing offensive philosophies between the glorified running back and youthful game-manager eerily reminiscent of a young Tom Brady. As well as Miami’s day two and three selections, Bill Belichick only has more firepower for his favorite portion of the draft.

Now with three first-round selections situated at the front of the order, the Miami Dolphins could manage to collect three franchise pieces with long-term value and open a potential four-year championship window. Selecting their choice of quarterback at number six overall, the Miami Dolphins then have the choice to continue their spending spree with other big names such as Rashod Bateman and Kwity Paye.

Alternatively, Brian Flores could opt to use the Patriots trade as a quick way to move up a handful of spots in the draft order from eighteen to fifteen, and subsequently take the highest-bidder for the eighteenth overall selection once he has his choice of quarterback and pass-catcher to re-enter the latter stages of the 2021 NFL Draft.
