4. Rashawn Slater, OL, Northwestern

This would be in yet another trade-back scenario for the Atlanta Falcons, most likely again with Denver. The jury is out whether or not the 2021 NFL Draft class has the top-tier talent at tackle that 2020 did. It certainly brings depth, but to NFL evaluators at least, there are questions.

There is an outside chance the Atlanta Falcons could look to add more on the offensive line. Yes, Chris Lindstrom and Kaleb McGary were recent first-round selections, but if the plan is to go all-in with Ryan these next two seasons, having the line in perfect condition is the way to go on offense.

Northwestern offensive lineman Rashawn Slater would make a ton of sense for the Falcons because of one thing: versatility. Slater has experience playing both left tackle and right tackle, and could potentially play the other three spots on the line. This would give the Falcons options regarding where to play Slater. He could slide in at left guard to start, and if McGary doesn’t improve, Slater could move out to right tackle. Slater is excellent in pass protection and possesses good hand placement, recovery athleticism, and gets after it with down blocks in the run game.
