Buffalo Bills: Defensive-heavy 2021 seven-round mock draft
After adding Gregory Rousseau on the edge, I think it is important for the Buffalo Bills to add some talent to the interior of their defensive line as well. Alim McNeill is an intriguing 2021 NFL Draft prospect and would be a great fit at this point in the 2021 NFL mock draft.
The Buffalo Bills used a top 10 pick in defensive lineman Ed Oliver in the 2019 NFL Draft. While they have a couple of solid veteran options on their defensive line, they don’t have a real viable future pairing for their young up-and-comer.
As Oliver comes into his own, the Bills should look to build the line around him. With Rousseau, Epenesa, and now McNeill, they should be looking pretty good for the coming years.
Alim McNeill is a big and powerful player who dominates at the point of attack. He has a strong anchor with the ability to reset the line and push the pocket. While quickness isn’t necessarily his game, McNeill shows the ability to penetrate into the backfield.
Another fiery player, McNeill has the grit and motor that you look for, especially in a player with his size at his position. He gives 100%, 100% of the time, and always seems to find a way to impact the play.
I think Alim McNeill could be the perfect complement to Ed Oliver. Oliver is a very athletic, penetrating three-technique, and McNeill is a powerful and dominant nose tackle. This new and improved defensive front will be key for the growth the development of the Buffalo Bills defense.
