The 2021 NFL Draft defensive tackle is one of the worst positions in this year’s draft. The only prospect who earns a first-round grade from this class is Christian Barmore who is rated as the 25th best player in the draft. One prospect who could be good value later in the draft though is Jaylen Twyman of Pittsburgh.

Most underrated defensive tackle in 2021 NFL Draft: Jaylen Twyman

Pittsburgh’s Jaylen Twyman is likely the most underrated player in the 2021 NFL. He carries a second-round grade here but is receiving a lot of sixth-round grades from other places including The Athletic. The reason he has a second-round grade on this board is his ability to get after the passer having recorded 10.5 sacks in 2019. This ability to get after the pass should translate to the NFL as well as Twyman shows a good burst off the ball and is an agile defensive lineman.

Most overrated defensive tackle in 2021 NFL Draft: Milton Williams

While Milton Williams has put up solid production over the past two seasons recording ten sacks over the past two years and ran a good 40-yard dash he is a little overrated going into the 2021 NFL Draft. Some of the concerns with him include a lack of ideal height, questionable footwork, and poor pad level.

Day three gem in 2021 NFL Draft: Alim McNeil

A team looking for a nose tackle on day three of the draft will like what they find in North Carolina nose tackle Alim McNeil. McNeil is a player who plays with good strength and holds his ground extremely well. He moves well for a nose tackle as well and could play defensive tackle in a 4-3 defense.

Defensive tackle that is the biggest risk in the 2021 NFL Draft: Marvin Wilson

Marvin Wilson went into the 2020 season with a first-round grade, but that stock dropped after a disappointing season. At times last year, Wilson looked disinterested and also appeared out of shape. If he can go to a coach who can keep him motivated he could develop into an NFL starter, but if not he could be out of the league in a couple of years.
