2021 NFL mock draft: What each team should do in the first round
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 25th overall
It is difficult to watch Trevon Moehrig play the safety position and not fall in love with his game. He is an extremely rangy player on the back-end who shows tremendous instincts in zone coverage and attacks the ball in the air extremely well. The Jacksonville Jaguars are putting together an interesting young defensive unit but lack impact talent at the safety position. Adding the top safety in the class would certainly make sense for the team.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 26th overall
Christian Barmore is far and away the top interior defensive line prospect in this draft class. He could easily go much higher than this and should undoubtedly be off of the board at some point in the first round. In this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Cleveland Browns scoop up Barmore, giving them another impact player up front.
Barmore is a quick and powerful defensive lineman who displays an explosive first step and impressive one-gap penetration ability. He has exciting upside as an interior pass rusher and also shows solid instincts against the run. Barmore would be a nice value pick in this range and would undoubtedly help take the Browns’ defense to the next level.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 27th overall
Medical concerns have been popping up for Terrace Marshall Jr. as we approach the 2021 NFL Draft but it is difficult to judge how much stock we should be putting into that. What we know is that Marshall is a big and explosive wide receiver who showed the ability to produce on the outside and out of the slot in the SEC. He is an impact playmaker who has exciting upside at the next level and the Baltimore Ravens could certainly use some more playmakers in the passing game.
2021 NFL mock draft: Round 1, 28th overall
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is an exciting defensive playmaker who will likely go much earlier than this. That being said, with his lack of a true position, he is a difficult player to place with a specific team. Owusu-Koramoah can play linebacker, box safety and even some slot cornerback, and he is at his best when he is allowed to play a little bit of each.
He is a quick and explosive athlete who always seems to be around the ball and he also shows tremendous instincts in zone coverage. Simply put, Owusu-Koramoah is a weapon on the defensive side of the ball and the New Orleans Saints simply could not ignore the value of taking him late in this mock draft.
