2021 NFL mock draft: 20th pick

Pick Analysis. player. 20. Scouting Report. OT. Virginia Tech. Christian Darrisaw. 57

Bears GM/HC: Ryan Pace/Matt Nagy

The Chicago Bears are committed to Andy Dalton for the 2021 season after trying (and failing) to acquire Russell Wilson.

Because of that attempt to trade for Russell Wilson, I don’t think we’ll see the Bears move up for anyone in this draft. I think if anything, they may attempt to stockpile more picks for 2022 and take a crack at acquiring Wilson again, hoping things continue to sour between he and the Seahawks.

For this mock draft, the Bears stay put and grab a potential starting offensive tackle in Christian Darrisaw.

Darrisaw is one of the meanest run blockers in this draft with the potential to absolutely mow people down in space. He was tremendously improved this past season as a pass protector, even if Virginia Tech didn’t ask him to do that as much as other FBS programs ask of their tackles.

The Bears are going to have to establish a strong and consistent ground game in 2021, and that’s not going to happen with the kind of offensive line play we saw from them a season ago.

Although Darrisaw is boring by comparison to trading your next three draft classes for Russell Wilson, patience could very well pay off for Ryan Pace.
