2021 NFL mock draft: 19th pick

LB. Penn State. Micah Parsons. 19. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. player. 58

Most 2021 NFL mock draft scenarios have the Washington Football Team going after an offensive tackle or even a quarterback, but this situation is about as interesting as you will find in my opinion.

Ron Rivera has assembled quite the defense in a short period of time with Washington. He has maybe the game’s top young star off the edge in Chase Young, and a very good young bookend in Montez Sweat.

Washington has a very tough defensive front but there is some star power missing from that second level of defense.

While questions about immaturity off the field have merit, there is no denying Parsons’ on-field talent and his ability to be an impact player in Ron Rivera’s defense.

Parsons came to Penn State as a pass rusher and he departs as one of the more intriguing defensive weapons in the class. He needs some coaching as he typically just dominated games with his superior athleticism and speed.

Seeing what Parsons was able to do with just his raw talent, it’s fun to think about what he could be with a coach like Rivera helping him along. It’s odd to even type this, but the right infrastructure might even be in place for Parsons to grow as a person as well.

Putting him in the same defense as Chase Young and the rest of the young studs Washington has right now is a very fun thought.
