Giants GM/HC: Dave Gettleman/Joe Judge

Despite acquiring James Bradberry last offseason and Adoreé Jackson this offseason, the New York Giants are rumored to be in the market for more cornerback help.

It just so happens that there is not likely better value than Greg Newsome with this selection anyway.

In this scenario, the Giants moved down with the Arizona Cardinals to acquire future capital and they passed on Jaycee Horn to do it. There are some who believe that Newsome should be in the same conversation with guys like Horn and Patrick Surtain II, and there are a variety of reasons for that.

Although the sample size on Newsome is not the same as with Surtain or even Horn, there is no question that this guy has CB1 capabilities.

He’s long, fast, tough, and he has experience playing both in the nickel role and as an outside corner.

Quarterbacks didn’t find much success at all throwing Newsome’s way in 2020, and even in a shortened season, his production is impressive.

With his combination of inside/outside versatility, strength, length, speed, and explosiveness, Newsome would be a tremendous pickup for the Giants.
