2021 NFL mock draft: 15th pick

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Teven Jenkins. player. 15. 50. OT. Oklahoma State

Lions GM/HC: Brad Holmes/Dan Campbell

The Detroit Lions are one of a couple of teams that have said to the rest of the NFL world in big, bold letters this offseason:

WE ARE REBUILDING.

Detroit brought in a new general manager in Brad Holmes from the Los Angeles Rams, and Holmes promptly sent quarterback Matthew Stafford back to his old team for a variety of draft selections.

In addition to the draft pick bounty, Holmes got back the QB he had with the Rams — Jared Goff.

With Goff under center, who knows what direction the Lions will go in the 2021 NFL Draft? They could potentially take a quarterback, but there’s certainly no guarantee of that with Goff on the roster and likely the starter for 2021 regardless.

They could take a receiver with the 7th pick, but the Lions seem to me like a team that won’t pass on the chance to trade down for even more future NFL Draft capital.

Dan Campbell said at his introductory press conference that he wants his team to bite off some hypothetical kneecaps if they get knocked down, and perhaps no player embodies that mindset better than Teven Jenkins.

Jenkins allowed just two sacks in over 1,100 snaps in his time at Oklahoma State and he’s a mauler in the running game. The Lions keep collecting picks, and they will start building this roster through the NFL Draft brick by brick.
