Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 87th overall

player. 840. OT. Stone Forsythe. 3. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Florida

There has been a bit of hype surrounding Stone Forsythe in recent weeks and he could easily be off of the board in this range. That being said, he is still a raw offensive tackle prospect, making it at least relatively realistic that he could be available late on Day 2.

Forsythe is a big, long and athletic offensive tackle prospect who played both tackle positions in college. He moves his feet well in pass protection and does a great job of using his long arms to his advantage. Forsythe is less than impressive as a run blocker and does tend to play too high at times. It is difficult for any 6-foot-8 offensive lineman to play low, but Forsythe must work on lowering his pad level if he wants to be a consistent starter at the next level.

Simply put, the Pittsburgh Steelers have an obvious need at the offensive tackle position and Forsythe undoubtedly has exciting upside. While he is far from a perfect player, Forsythe is worth taking a chance on in this range.

Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 NFL mock draft: Round 3, 95th overall

Scouting Report. Northern Iowa. 3. 55. Elerson Smith. player. Pick Analysis. EDGE

After trading down earlier in this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers have an extra third-round selection to work with. After loading up the offense with their first three picks, the Steelers spend a resource on the defense with the selection of edge rusher Elerson Smith.

Smith is a long and athletic edge defender who displays an explosive first step and impressive bend around the edge. He is a bit of a raw prospect, but Smith has exciting upside as a speed rusher around the edge and would be a great target for Pittsburgh in this range. In Smith, the Steelers find themselves an exciting edge rusher who could come in and immediately compete with Alex Highsmith for snaps up front.
