Pick Analysis. WR. Dyami Brown. 3. 838. Scouting Report. North Carolina. player

While they do not have to take a wide receiver in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, it is still a major position of need for the team that must be addressed at some point. In this NFL mock draft scenario, the Detroit Lions find wide receiver value in the third round with the selection od Dyami Brown.

Brown is a dynamic big-play weapon who shines when allowed to make plays down the field. He shows good release skills at the line of scrimmage, is a crisp route runner who is particularly impressive on double moves and has the speed to consistently stretch the field. Brown also tracks the ball in the air extremely well, consistently catches the ball away from his body and shows some ability as a run-after-catch playmaker.

While Brown does lack some play strength that will likely cause him some issues at the next level, he is an extremely gifted offensive playmaker who undoubtedly has exciting upside. Brown is a fantastic target for the Detroit Lions in this range.

After not addressing wide receiver in the first round, the Lions could look to address the position with multiple picks later in the draft. In this 2021 NFL mock draft, the Lions take wide receivers with each of their picks in the third round, with Amon-Ra St. Brown going just a few picks after Brown.

St. Brown is an extremely tough and physical slot receiver who shines in the middle of the field. He is a crafty route runner who is quick in short spaces, has reliable hands and creates well after the catch. St. Brown also shows the ability to stretch the field a bit from the slot.

Simply put, St. Brown is a talented player who has a safe floor at the next level. The Lions lack impact talent in a major way at the wide receiver position and St. Brown would undoubtedly be able to make an immediate impact.
